Bar Cost

Privacy notice

Last updated October 16, 2026. In plain language: what Bar Cost collects, and why.

The app

Everything you enter in the app (bottles, prices, cocktails, distributors, counts and orders) is saved in your own web browser, on your device. If you don't sign in, it stays there and isn't sent to us or anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it, so use Backup in the app to keep a copy.

If you sign in

Signing in is optional. If you do, we store your email address and a copy of your bar's data in your account, so you can use it on any device.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store the details you give us: your email address, and optionally your bar or business name, your role, your number of locations and the plan you're interested in, plus the date you joined.

Your choices

To see, change or delete your waitlist details or your account and its data, or to stop hearing from us, email us. Every launch email will also include a way to unsubscribe.

Invoice scanning

If you scan an invoice, the photo or PDF is sent to Anthropic, whose AI model (Claude) reads the line items and sends them back to the app. We don't store the image, and Anthropic processes it only to provide this service. The lines you choose to receive are saved with your bar like everything else. Sales exports you import (for example from Toast) are saved with your bar too.

Feedback

If you send feedback from the app, we store your message, the email you give (optional), which screen you were on and your browser type, to read it and reply. It isn't used for anything else.

Error reports

If something goes wrong in the app, it sends us a short error report so we can fix it: the error message, where in the app's code it happened, the page, and your browser type. It never includes your bar's data, and isn't linked to your account.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Firebase (Google), which, like any web host, processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages. The site loads its font from Google Fonts.
